Hello everyone. I’m currently experiencing an issue with syncing my music on Apple Music and I’m hoping someone knows what the issue is. For reference, I do not subscribe to Apple Music.

I have a large music collection that I’m constantly adding and making changes too. Prior to getting my iPhone 15 Pro, if I were to change a song title for a song in an album, once synced it would be properly reflected on my iPhone. Now with my new phone, if I were to adjust a song title, not the album or anything else, once synced it would create an additional album on my phone with just that song.

For example, let’s use Michael Jackson’s Triller. If I had the song “The Girl Is Mine” originally synced on my iPhone and then changed it to “The Girl Is Mine (feat. Paul McCartney)”, once I sync it to my iPhone I would have two Triller albums; one with every song that’s on the album and a separate album with just “The Girl is Mine (feat. Paul McCartney).

In order for me to correct it, I have to remove the entire album from my playlist, sync, then re-add the entire album and sync again.

I currently have an iPhone 15 Pro and I’m on iOS 17.2.1. I use a MacBook Pro to sync my music on the latest OS (I will update this soon with the OS version).

Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix this? Is anyone else having this issue? Is this potentially an iOS issue or something else? Thanks in advance. You will be saving me from a huge headache.

I've had similar problems. Editing info used to be no problem but that's not the case anymore.

I also have/had similar problems. From what I can deduce, Music (i.e., the app) wants to ‘correct’ song/album info. Some things I’ve noticed is it will change, add, or remove album artist or composer — which I originally realized because artists and albums were not showing up in searches. Furthermore, nearly all of my imported (CD) albums' artwork has disappeared.

Quite frankly, unless it’s an easy fix and I decide to do it immediately, I’ve stopped fighting with Music. Verifying and fixing every album and song not purchased via the iTunes Store would be a many hour task with no guarantees Music wouldn’t go back and make its own ‘corrections’ again anyway.

That's been my thought too. I've been wary of spending a lot of time correcting things only to have my changes wiped out again.
