Currently doing a trial of a family subscription to Apple Music. Without logging in as my child, is there a way to see what music they have been playing (or searching)? I read some references about seeing this through Family Sharing, but could not locate it.

Thank you!

No don't think so. Family sharing is just a connection. For example, you all share say 200GB of iCloud storage but it's just their individual devices under their Apple account that sees a 200GB limit. All you can see as the main user is how much storage they are using. You cannot access their iCloud and view files. The same applies to anything else being shared under the family plan.

For child accounts, you can setup some age-appropriate content limits but not a great deal more.

Alright - bummer. I guess making sure I know their password will have to be the way we go. I had read in a few locations you should see this through family sharing, but could not find it anywhere. I then thought about sharing play history, with us (parents), but it seems you can't do that with kids. I'm a bit surprised they don't have an option to use the same sharing feature used for social media to parents, for kids accounts.

Go on the listen now tab using your child's account, click on the profile logo on top right, create a profile for your child and select "share what I'm listening to". After that, on your own account, create your profile, and go follow your child's account. You'll be able to see what he/she is listening to ;) A "Friends are listening to" will show in the Listen now tab and you can always go to their profile and see it (by searching their username or via your own profile).

You can unselect your own "share what I'm listening to" if you don't want your child to see yours 😂

The "Your Friends are listening to" section that will appear:

What you need to "check" so others can see your listening history:

(My own profile lmao) But here's what you'll see on your child's profile:

They will find a way around your snooping if they want to. Lots of ways to get access to whatever they may be looking for.

Can't remember what happens with Apple Music but possibly if you log in it will be like iCloud and alert them that a different device is trying to log in. Depends on whether their knowing is a factor.

Sure, but the OP did state "Without logging in as my child".
Yeah, once their child's account is created and OP followed their child, they should be able, on their own Apple Music, to go on their child's page and see what they've been listening to :). Like when I go on my friends' profile I see their listening history.
