Apple Music Apple Music Requires Internet to Play Downloaded Songs

Hello guys. This happened to anyone? Lately, I need to go online to play any songs at Apple Music(and I have downloaded 80GB+ songs on my phone). Kinda beats the purpose of downloading them, eh?

Any help would be appreciated!

Yes I’ve had the same thing happen when I’ve been out camping with no service. But it doesn’t happen every time, just occasionally my phone gets in a mood. If you’re patient it will eventually play, but with a delay for each song.

Anyway, when it happens I’ve tried force quitting Music, restarting the phone, etc with no luck. Just eventually it goes back to normal.

Bonkers isn’t it - all the complexity in these devices and yet this predictable issue has been overlooked.

I suspect that’s it’s a DRM thing - the phone trying to call home to see if you’ve paid your bill before playing the song.

Prossibly so. But you would think it would do this check once when the track is downloaded.

To update: It works but sometimes, same thing. Then works again. So weird. Dont even know what triggered this. Oh well. Hope the next big iOS fixes this.
