Before upgrading to iOS 17 there was always a ~gig of data that was reported in the iPhone storage settings. But I just checked and mine was now over 6gb. And I never download any music for offline listening.

I deleted the app and installed it again. Good to see all that storage gone. Wondering if listening to music keeps leaving all that streamed data there?

I’ve also notice the System Data catch all no longer shows apps data. Instead looks like each apps lists their own.

Yes it does. I believe it also caches album art too, to an extent.

One thing good about android is you can clear data and cache without having to uninstall the app... Was it available on versions older than iOS 6 or was it only available due to jailbreak?

Apple should bring that functionality to iOS... It's like a factory reset but for the app...

1.89 GB is such a small space though. Mine is 2.72 GB and Books is 9.8 GB. 😄

Yes but now that it seems they report each app data, you get to see how much each stores instead of lumping all under system data. Maybe Apple wants app developers to add support to clean their caches. That would work for me.
