If I cancel my Apple Music subscription, will all of the liked music in my Library disappear or remain intact?

I’d like to cancel my monthly subscription, but I don’t want to lose all the songs I liked - it’s several thousand.

Thank you in advance.

You're basically leasing songs so once you quit paying you lose access. You don't own anything on Apple Music.
Ok, thanks. I thought you’d only lose your library and all your likes if you deleted your Apple ID.

So you’re really locked into paying monthly if you want to retain your liked music and overall access to your library.

But what happens with the playlists if I cancel the SUBscription for a couple of months?
Will they reappear When I subscribe again or are they gone forever?

They remain part of your account so when you re-subscribe they should still be there

I may very well be wrong but I've heard more than once that after 30 days you lose everything. I'd certainly try Apple directly.

Oh - there’s really no clear info on this issue…I searched several forums. can’t be the first with this question

I contacted Apple and got this very clear answer:
  • I would like to inform you that, when you will cancel the subscription as you mentioned 2 months so all playlists will be deleted , it's expected behaviour, and you will need to create again.
However if in case cancellation subscription or re-subscribing within a month so it might be there , playlists and songs which you have saved.

Oh well I must have resubscribed within that timeframe then! Apologies
:) No need to apologise - how could you know?

I´ve got so many different suggestions (on several forums...) to the conditions, but it only took less than 2 minutes to contact Apple and get the real answer.

I always cancel and re subscribe sometimes months later and they always re appear but maybe that could have changed but it's always been fine for me.

Haha great :D

I guess their official policy is 4 weeks, but reality could be much longer…maybe?

This could explain the confusion.

You can try doing the ‘export library’ in the files menu before you leave. People say that is supposed to save playlists and likes and everything, although I’ve never actually tried to re-import it myself

Ok - I’ll try your suggestion.
I noticed there is several third party apps that offers to transform your playlists into Spotify/Tidal playlists…(and maybe back). They seem a bit sketchy though.

Anyway, I just payed for another month

I've got too many liked songs to cancel my membership and lose all those likes. I guess I'm forever locked into my Apple Music subscription 😆. Which is fine, I didn't have any immediate need to cancel anyway. But it helps to know.
