ive no idea why Apple Music is using so much battery in he background, can anybody explain why 3.3 hours used in background, and only 12 minutes on screen.

Is it due to refreshing/background updates, or simply that I'm playing music with my screen turned off?

And while I'm posting this question, why does Mesenger have nearly the same background usage and foreground usage?

Seems to me you listened to 3.3 hours of music over the course of 7 days (you're in the "last 7 days" tab.)

Anytime you play music and aren't directly in the app, it counted as background.

As for Messenger. Well that's Facebook. They are known for dirty tricks of secretly playing silent audio so that the app continues to run indefinitely. (They did that with the actual Facebook app) Messenger also uses VoIP which can also cause an app to continue to run in the background. Just force close it after use to stop it from doing that.

Thanks very much for the info. I thought it might be listening to music with the screen off…

Great idea about force closing the app, thanks for that! I'm getting close to deleting the main Facebook app, he only reason I have it is for badge app icons for notifications - saving the Facebook.com site to your homes screen doesn't do badge app icons, right?
