Hello.

I've only been using Spotify for 6 months, only used Apple Music as storage for downloaded music. Never subscribed. I have no issues with Spotify's service, however I'm not crazy about the visuals. I think the iPad and mostly the Mac version looks hideous. It's also seems like you have to be "chosen" in order to recieve a visual overhaul, like the new greetings with your favorite music shortcuts. Everyone I know has gotten that update, but I haven't. This reminds me of when gmail didn't roll out dark mode to everyone. But the difference is that I'm actually PAYING for a subscription so I'm damn mad that they decide I'm not worthy to receive the overhaul update. I also don't like that a song now plays a snippet of a video in the background. I'm afraid of battery drain. Which I've also experienced lately from non-video songs. I also find it odd that an album artwork is sharp but the podcast artwork has rounded conners. There's something off-putting about that to me.

However, it seems to me like Apple Music may be extremely slow at loading? I may not be a paid subscriber but I tried searching for stuff and it's slooooooow.... any subscribers who experience this? And how's the loading of a song? It also seems like there's extra steps to get to a favorite song, you first have to your library (which looks so sad and empty), then you have to click 'Your playlists' and then choose which playlist and eventually find your song. While on Spotify it already shows your entire playlists, so all you have to do is scrolling down to an album and tap on the song you're looking for. I also hear how the transition of a song to another on Apple Music is really bad?

Can somebody give me an in depth detail? And also is it true, that if I start a 3 month trial on Apple Music that I'm forced to pay and cannot back out of the trial before the 3 months are up? Cause the only way I'd know for sure is if I had my own experience of both services at same time... One of the reason I've also considered Apple Music is so I can store downloaded music that isn't on available to stream or buy.

Thanks to anyone who bothered reading this and are willing to help me out

You can turn this off in the settings (Playback->Canvas).

I'm pretty sure you can either cancel or disable auto-renewal in your subcription settings before the trial is up. I'd definitely recommend to try it yourself.

My personal opinion: I used Apple Music for a little over a year. I enjoyed how well integrated it is in Apple's OSs, but eventually changed back to Spotify because I was really missing "Discover Weekly" and all the user-generated playlists. I don't care much how the app looks, and think the UI is slightly better than Apple's.

No, not at all. It works the same as all subscriptions - you sign up, it'll confirm your first payment is due in 3 months. You can manage this in your subscription settings. If you cancel the same day you'll still have access for the 3 free months

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. Once you cancel any of Apple's services trials, you lose access immediately, regardless of when the trial is scheduled to end. And you only get one free trial, so if you cancel, you cannot try it again.

I stand corrected. I'm sure it was still valid - maybe I was thinking of something else...
