Apple Music

I am trying to use iCloud and Apple Music to play all my music.

I am trying to get away from syncing my phone to the computer and just using the iCloud and I was able to get the music I made into a play to add to iTunes but then a few days later I added another album but it didn't sync to the iPhone.

I have been looking online but haven't been able to figure out why.

I just went into iTunes on my iMac and turned on iCloud music library and nothing changed.

With Apple Music on I shouldn't have 78 gb of music showing on my device correct?

I am trying to find a vedio on youtube or apple to walk me through it but haven't had any luck.

First make sure that iCloud Music Library is turned on on all your devices, and that they are all running on the same Apple ID with an active Apple Music subscription:

iTunes: Preferences > Check the iCloud Music Library box
iPhone: Settings > Music > Turn on iCloud Music Library

Ok I did all that but is the Music in iTunes being transferred to the iPhone through iCloud is taking up the space on the phones hard drive. shouldn't it all stored in the cloud? Did I do something wrong?

Music doesn't download automatically. If you want, you can download individual tracks or whole playlists and albums by tapping the three dots, and tapping the download icon.

Realistically using Apple Music will take up some space on your iPhone, as the songs are stored locally temporarily when you stream them. But you don't need to worry about that - it's a very small amount of data and is only temporary.

Furthermore, you can make Apple Music save even more space on your iPhone by turning on Optimise Storage in Settings > Music.

Once you turn on Apple Music, you don't sync to desktop iTunes anymore. And no, all your music won't download to your phone, unless you specifically choose to download those songs/albums. Apple Music is a streaming service.
