The apple tv is a good idea. The mac mini is ok. But i want a media center pc that has blue ray and pvr. I want front row to be better then media center on vista. Will it ever happen??

Get a Vista machine like I did for Windows Media Center.

I'm a little surprised that Apple hasn't tapped or assimilated Elgato for their software.

I sure hope it happens. Maybe it's next on their list now that they've got the iPhone released and Snow Leopard on track. A mini with :apple:TV functions could work well.

I guarantee this will never happen because it just to complicated for the average user to setup and for Apple to support all the different possible configurations. The only people who use Media Center are pretty technical people who are not Apple's target. I'm saying this as a Vista Media Center user and while I really like Media Center it is in no way something that an average person could setup and get working correctly on a tv. I even had to add a registry edit to get atsc and cable to work at the same time with an a/b switch since it doesn't even support qam. Trust me even though I have media center setup the way I like and it works great once setup it would be a support nightmare and most people just get a box from their satellite or cable company that they know will work with little maintenance. Using media center or elgato on a computer is a lot easier but when your talking about hooking up to an external tv then that is where all the complications come in. I use my media center PC in my room with one display hookup going to a tv and another to a monitor so I can still use it as a PC and that works really well but it took a lot of tinkering to get it setup the way I liked.
