Heheh, I wouldn't waste my energy... even if Apple does get there first it won't change anything. Apple needs to stop worrying about getting AHEAD of the competitors and needs to start CATCHING UP!

I'm still waiting on my 1.4GHz G5 with DDR, Apple...

(Nevermind the fact that that's still about one half the current GHz offerings by other competitors... I know how little it matters. But PC converts DON'T!)

agree, but M$ xill be too late, that's for sure (it says: will begin shipping ... later this year)
Apple will release by MWNY :), and ones again Gates is a copycat:mad:

Good call. The sooner Apple gets its Bluetooth ducks in a row, the better. It also seems, from this article at least, that M$ is going to be playing up the practical aspects of Bluetooth (fewer cables, etc), which is bound to attract more consumer customers than would be the PDA-gadget-oriented uses of the technology. Apple needs to get in there and beat M$ to the punch.

How cool would it be if Apple came out with its very own super-cool Bluetooth photo-quality inkjet printer? It would surely sell like crazy.

YES. No wires is the way to go. It is THE future. As in.. not even in one place would there be a wire. Broadband internet, phone lines, even headphones. They will eventually all have no wires.

And Bluetooth is just the beginning.

They won't have any wires except for the power cables.

Or you can use batteries to power everything....many many toxic batteries ending up in landfills so that you can be wireless.

Don't get me wrong. I am for bluetooth, but it is not the only solution to connections.

I still would preffer firewire and usb for major connections.

-Camera downloads
-Video imports
-Scanners
-Printers
-iPod (if I had one)
-Keyboard and mouse because I don't want batteries

I would use bluetooth for
a PDA (if I had one)
a cellphone (if I actually used the one I have)
Quick connects to my laptop (small files) big files I connect to LAN
connecting to electronic appliances..(if I could afford fancy stuff like that... but I buy what I can afford and fancy electronics is not part of the equation)

In my opinion. It is a nice feature, something missing since infra red left.... but really it is not that big of a deal as being made.

Of course the problem with blue tooth is that in the time it would take to make a quick connection to transfer small files, you could have connected a firewire cable and transferred a huge amount more. blue tooth honestly doesn't make any sense to me except for transferring contact information to a PDA/cell phone. its just way too slow for any practical file transfer. Am I just missing something. how is this supposed to be a really useful technology? There must be faster wireless standards out there that could be adapted to similar uses, like airport.
