Depends where you are. If you're in the US then there's a problem but it's not available anywhere else yet except through iOS 9.1 beta

I got the apple news app. I did upgrade via iTunes. Maybe that played a role?

I updated OTA, and it was there. It may be hiding somewhere on one of your home screens. I already had find my friends and the podcasts apps installed, but for some reason, they randomly moved to my second to last home screen next to the news app.

That was the only thing that caused me to even notice the news app. I saw the other two and was like, "what are you doing there...?"

Happened to me too. I don't think it's available outside of the US yet (I may be wrong, but I'm in Canada so I'm guessing it isn't available here)

When I updated to iOS 9, Apple News was automatically installed. However, I am having issues with articles loading on LTE and WiFi. I'm on a 5S.
Seems to be widespread at the moment...if you're in the US give it some time. My for you section was blank for a bit, but after tapping around and coming back to it later, it all came back - including favorites and history via iCloud.
