I signed up for a trial of Apple News+ yesterday, but when I opened the news app today it said my trial had expired. Additionally, the news app crashes every time I open it and begin scrolling down. Anybody else have either one of these issues?

I haven’t signed up for news plus but my news app crashes after a few seconds of opening too. Tried force closing, restarting the phone but still crashes.

I am having a very similar issue. I haven't signed up for the trial yet, but I update both my iPhone X and iPad Pro to iOS 12.2 and the News+ app works fine on my iPhone, but crashes in 2 seconds upon opening it on my iPad. I have force restarted the iPad and even uninstall and reinstalled the news app with no luck. This is really frustrating, as I much prefer reading new on the iPad to the phone.

Update:

after waiting a few more minutes, it seems the iPad is acting normal now. I am wondering if it a server issue.

My News+ app crashes on my iPhone and my Macbook Air a few seconds after I open it. It was working just fine on my iPhone last night. The only thing I did yesterday was opt in for my family plan. I removed the family plan invitation and it is still crashing.

Same here. Updated last night (3/25) and it was fine. This morning it starts then crashes almost instantly.

It's even crashing without subscribing, which makes me really want to subscribe.

Why do so many 'updates' look like amateurish hot messes? Poor testing, poor execution, the need to rush more 'important updates' after feature updates. Are iPhones and iPads becoming too complex to fly? It should be embarrassing to someone at Apple, shouldn't it?

Crashes on all my iPhones. What an epic fail by Apple.

Can’t even read the news!!!

My dad is having the same problems. I wonder how many users are affected.

Same here.
Updated my XS to 12.2 this morning. News app crashes within a handful of seconds upon launch.

That it worked for some last night but not this morning might suggest a server issue?

Update(ish): it’s feeling more a server issue on Apple’s end. Now I can’t even scroll in the app for the handful of seconds I have it launched. Whereas before, I could scroll a bit. Regardless, not the best morning after look for Apple.

Same problem here. News on Mac or iPhone both crash very shortly after opening the app. Both were working fine after the 10.14.4 and iOS 12.2 update yesterday.

Glad I'm not the only one! I know had to be server-related when it crashed on both Mac and iPhone. It only started today; it was fine yesterday even after the 12.2 update.

Found a quick fix. As soon as the app opens tap the News+ section. Worked on my iPads and iphone

Not working for me, unfortunately. It crashes in News+ as well. Also, the News app is crashing on my MacBook Pro which was also updated last night. Crashing on iOS and MacOS devices makes me think it's definitely a server issue on their end.

It's not crashing for me, but none of my magazines from my phone are showing up on my iPad...
