Maybe I've misinterpreted how this thing works. Updated to gm yesterday on iPhone 6 and iPad mini retina.
I don't see a standalone news app anywhere. When I swipe to the left from the home screen I have the search and Siri suggestions but the news that is displayed shows content from Australia in my iPhone and from the UK on my iPad mini.
I'm living in Australia but have been in Canada for the last two months. I thought these news stories were either location based on based in some settings. I don't really care what the prime minister in Australia says (I never do) while in Canada and I don't care about some random local event in the uk, ever.
I read somewhere news would only be supporting aus, U.K., US I the short term. Is there a way to change settings etc.
No news app in the App Store but I imagine that's because the OS is not public yet.
