I wonder why Apple didn't include many new wallpapers in iOS 10 for older devices? I hope this doesn't become a new trend going forward but it seems like it will be as the 6s was similar.

I would love to Apple release new wallpapers for all the devices every point release. It's the small things that add up and make the phone experience pleasant.

Your thoughts?

I will say that I personally was hoping for new wallpapers but nope. I have an iPhone 6S and as far as I can tell, the buddy of mine that has his 7, has no new wallpapers. They are the same since the betas. It is kind of frustrating but I really hope that Apple Gives us new wallpapers sometime in the future. Maybe next major iOS release. I guess we will see

IIRC iOS 5 did not have new wallpapers, but 5.1 did when the iPad 3 was released with it. There's hope for new ones before iOS 11 :)

Why new wallpapers when you can download thousands of hd quality from the internet ?

As far as I know there weren't any new wallpapers even on a new device. Maybe one new one that has been available on the internet for months.

I was sad that they took out some of the ones that came out a few iOS versions ago like the green leaf and the additional leather ones. Right now I'm using the darker blue gradient one. Really didn't care for the green waves one this time around.

Tradition.

They don't want the public to mistaken you're using the iphone7 when in reality you're using the iphone 6. Because the design is so much the same

Apple tend to select some wonderful wallpapers that really work well with iOS.
They have a certain taste - for the most part - that keeps devices looking classy.
Also, you don't have to put up with corner logos/watermarks, blurry resolution etc.

Taste is a matter of preference and really is neither here nor there. It's rather easy to find all kinds of good wallpapers without logs, watermarks, bad resolution, or anything like that. It seems like it's mostly down to what someone else brought up earlier: "Tradition"

just as Little Information:
on the iPhone 7 you dont have any new wallpaper on iOS 10 compared to iPhone 6, 6s, 5 and 5s

I thought the 7 came with the new Live Wallpaper which are the color bubbles? The 6s came with the Live Wallpaper which were moving colorful clouds and fish.
