What I'm not sure about is the way this is worded.

While you can go to checkout for this item alone, Apple doesn't
say anything at all about your existing stock card.

I'm just wondering if this " upgrade " might require you to return your Nvidia card
for a core return.

If anyone talks to Apple by phone, it would be great to know more details.

If this is in fact a direct purchase of the video card alone, then you can buy your Mac Pro now and upgrade at your leasure.

Someone with more advanced video card knowledge might be able to tell us
if one could still use the stock video card in one of the remaining available expansion slots???

based on price, i think you get to keep the NVidia :D

Remember upgrade price is now $250 or so for the X1900

The update is listed at 359.00 (Edu) so yeah if you don't mind waiting 3-5 weeks
for a complete BTO system, you can definitely save buying the X1900XT pre installed by Apple, but you will wait and it will be painful. ;)

Price isn't that bad...:D thats good... :D Mac graphics cards are usually WAY overpriced and underpowered.

Over here we dont have the BTO options, its wait for the x1900xt on the 3Ghz model or ... wait...  no options
