The same thing happened to me when I attempted to purchase my MBP on line. Everything seemed to be fine until the dreaded error message popped up on screen. Unfortunately I just went round-n-round between Apple and my bank for a few days until my bank released the funds once Apple didn't submit a charge.

It was very frustrating because apple claimed they never received authorization from my bank for the purchase while my bank had most certainly placed the funds on hold. I elevated it up through Apple customer service who did try to call my bank and get the confirmation number, etc. For whatever reason the bank and Apple couldn't get it together and I had to wait about 3 days to get the funds back into my bank account. Then I just said "to heck with ordering online!" and made an appointment at the apple store and purchased my computer that way.

Customer service was very nice and did offer to send me an iTunes gift card or some such thing, but I told them not to bother.

Contact Apple Customer support and see if the order processed thru, if it did, then just tell the CS rep to give you the confirmation number and credit card authorization number and also to send you a Tracking number once your order is shipped.

If the order did not go thru, speak with Apple and have the case looked at. Call your bank, better yet, go personally to your bank institution if possible and explain to them what happen so that your funds are not withheld or transfered.
