I am using Apple Pages version 11.0 and Big Sur 11.2.3

I am creating a text document and, when I select a word and add a highlight, the highlighting continues when I begin typing again.

What I would usually do is set the highlight color back to none and go on typing. However, that is no longer working. It stays highlighted as I continue to type.

The only solution seems to be to select all the blank space after the highlighted word and then change the highlight color to none. However, this does not work 100% of the time.

Does anyone know if this is a known glitch? Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you and be well.

How about using the highlight function, select the word and use - Shift+command+H

This will highlight the word, allow you to add additional notes on top of the word or highlighted sentence as you hover your mouse over it. You can then continue typing with out having to deselect any colors or unhighlight text.
