Buoyed by yesterday's results Apple shares have surged over 6%, resulting in Apple passing the market cap of PC marketshare leader HP. As of 12:34 ET the market caps of the two companies were:-

Apple - $ 126,896,521,080
HP - $ 124,318,660,830

Dell meanwhile are only worth roughly half an Apple at $65bn. Anyone have any advice as to what Mikey should do with the company? :D

Does this mean Apple has the highest value of any computer manufacturer?

Technically IBM (market cap $175bn) still make computers, but I think out of the PC manufacturers Apple is now the highest valued.

Only $150 billion until Apple surpasses Microsoft:p At the current growth rate, that could happen by the end of next year! Either way, market cap isn't as important as earnings. HP still beats Apple there. Although, by late this year, they might become really close in revenue and earnings. All around, good news.
