Apple patent

i was referring to the interesting patent application by apple...it does mention "wearables" which covers a larger territory than "watch"...i am thinking maybe there are plans to go beyond a device that could only measure heart rate...etc and that might include a type of device used for accessing your computer and more...IMHO...these "watches" that are out now are so ugly and cumbersome...i wouldn't be caught going to the supermarket with my hair dirty and yesterday's clothes wearing one...which brings me to the point...i'm not sure if apple will bring one out...as they've done before, they let some companies fall on their faces and then, like the "knight in shining armor" come out with something brilliant and cool, at least on first blush.

obviously, the chip supplier would be very important in this venture...the chip would have to be smaller than the "watches"'s chip ...anybody agree?

i was just trying to get dialogue going on this next important venture of apple...;)

To throw some cold water on this, a patent doesn’t in any way imply the current or future availability of any product whatsoever. Apple patents tons of things, and very few if any ever make it to products. Heck, few items in their skunkworks of actual built products ever make it to real products in the market.

We don’t know if this is a venture of Apple’s that is really worth discussing. A patent doesn’t mean a developed product. Apple patents anything it can think of - all companies do that. remember tons of people speculating in the past that X patent would be implemented in Y product. Most were just dead wrong.

yes... i am trying to figure out who the chip company might be for some type of "wearable"...like the bracelet (prototype) some are now wearing, like cook himself in several photo shots i've seen...i am looking for a stock to add to my portfolio...since this forum is about rumors maybe someone has one concerning this...IMHO i don't believe apple will come out with a "watch" they are too bulky, clumsy and UGLY and limited in their abilities...they may patent a "wearable" capable of doing so much more...which may require a very small chip...smaller than what is out there now...

There is absolutely no way for anybody to guess the technology in a product that doesn’t exist yet. It could be anything... And if it requires a new chip, they we are now talking about 2 things that don’t exist yet. The answer can be anybody...
