Apple Pay any cash back

A couple people asked me this, is it possible to get a cash back from an Apple Pay transaction? I don't usually get cash back from grocery stores as I usually just the Apple Pay straight up, so I don't know the answer to this. People seem to do this with their regular magnetic debit card.
Not sure if this is even possible or anyone have attempted it.

It should be possible, but only if you use a debit card in Apple Pay.
 
Hmmm, I haven't gone to a store that does cashback with the Apple Pay/Discover yet, I wonder if it prompts for cash back?
