A note for those who live near a Meijers Store. Last week I went to a Meijers Gas station at a local Meijers Store to get gas. I went into the station store and asked if Apple Pay would work at the pump. They said it would not, that it would work inside the store, but not yet at the pump.

I went out to the pump and noticed that it could use the "Fasttap" system and remembered people posting on here that if this system is used that Apple Pay should work. I decided to try my Apple watch on it, and when it asked me to scan my credit card I just held my Apple Watch up to the Fasttap logo and the system then went into normal credit card mode of asking for my zip code etc. I pumped my gas, got my receipt and went into the store and told them that Apple Pay would work at the pump. They thanked me for the info, saying that they had several people ask about it and were happy that they could now inform them that it would work.

Been using it at Meijer gas since apple pay launched. First with the phone, now with the watch. It's the best application for Apple pay IMO.

Good info! Now, just need Comerica to get on board. From my understanding, it will not be soon unfortunately.

I cannot remember what gas station it is, but there was an article on the front page a few weeks ago about someone adopting apple pay at the pump.

whats the difference between taking the wallet out and your phone out ??

Also no need to go into the store, unless you paying cash... so i dont see the point of using the phone... unless you're a fanboy...

A person using common sense. Good for a change ;)

Using your phone and NFC payments prevents fraud. A lot of the gas stations have skimmers that steal your credit card info.

i think nothing is can hide from investigated - if information or steeler then debit or credit crd dispute for us - that not big deal "@

You will always gonna have frauds and skimmers, no mater if you're going to use credit card or NFC... thats why if you want to prevent this, use cash.

In that case, if thats your mindset then don't use the internet, don't do online shopping and banking; stick to the old fashioned ways of paying cash for everything. *tin foil hat*

Edit: And keep writing checks and holding up the lines at the grocery stores.

Using the Apple Watch saves time compared to the iPhone/pulling your wallet out though.

You will always have muggers and sketchy retailers. That's why if you don't want to lose your money, you should use cards/NFC.
