Apple Pay & Built-to-Order at Apple Stores

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this, but I might have to buy a few things from Apple and wasn't sure if this was possible:

Discover is offering 10% cashback on all Apple Pay purchases (but their implementation of Apple Pay only works in-store, not in apps). We might need to be ordering a few custom-configured Mac minis, and that 10% back would certainly be nice. Would I be able to go to a physical Apple Retail Store and pick out the custom configuration and have them ring up the transaction as though I was buying something out of their inventory?

If not, I'll probably just "build" the machines in the Apple Store app and use Apple Pay with another card...

To my knowledge you can't configure and purchase build to order hardware in the Apple retail stores. Your only option is to order them online on Apple's web site.
