Looks like Apple quietly stopped supporting Credit Cards for Apple Pay Cash. Tried to send my daughter $20 this a.m. and got an error that I couldn't use my Amex and had to add my debit card. Disappointing. I didn't have an issue with the fee they charged because I funnel everything through my Amex. Oh well, will have to start leveraging Paypal or Venmo going forward.

Apple made that change when they announced the Apple Card last march, and they also rebranded Apple Pay Cash to just Apple Cash at that time. Apparently they don't want the new credit card being used to fund Apple Cash money transfers, because they advertised that the card has no fees associated to it and allowing it to fund money transfers would mean having to charge a cash withdrawal fee. Apple didn't make too much noise about it, but a number of tech websites including MacRumors here did report the change at the time.
