Does anyone know when Apple Pay Cash in the UK might hit?

It was nine months between the US and UK launch of Apple Pay, so hopefully soon.

I hope it's soon too.

Can't recall Apple showing Apple Pay (unless you changed your region) when that was first announced but I treated myself to a Series 3 Watch last week and that has the Apple Pay card on it too.

I do wonder if something is happening behind the scenes; previously during the set up process you had to scan a valid (U.S) photo ID-now it goes to your address but you can't proceed as we obviously have postal codes over here, not ZIP codes.

Couple of questions ?
What has to happen at Apple or banks to get this working ? is it to do with financial regulations in UK ?
Alos, some people in UK have reported seeing Apple Pay Cash appearing in Wallet settings. Was this only for people with specific banks ?

Apple Pay Cash appeared on my iPhone X & SE when I upgraded to iOS 11.4 and the latest builds of WatchOS-even when my SE didn’t have any cards stored on there.

Would imagine they’d have to find a partner for processing etc (someone like Wirecard, I’d imagine).

Kind of hoping it’ll be switched on for us in iOS 12 when the final version is released to the public...

They have already signed up with a partner who can operate across the U.K. and the EU. I forgot the name of them but I think ultimately they are based in Newcastle.

That's Wirecard (actually a German bank). Where do you have that info from? Do you have a source?

Hi, I'm guessing this still isn't available?

I seem to be able to run through setup until it asks for an address, at which point it's restricted to an American address with zip code etc.

Strange, as this is the sort of thing Apple would normally hide until release, I'm sure that's what they did with Apple Pay, it wasn't a specific iOS update that revealed it..

I have had this too. Now there’s a $0 Apple Pay cash balance showing up on my Apple ID with no way to remove it... hope this doesn’t mess anything upcoming whenever Apple Pay cash officially launches in the UK.

Could just turn it off in the Wallet settings for now?
