I have a Health Insurance Debit card that offers full Apple Pay support and has all documentation on how to set up on their website. I am able to add the card to my iPhone 15 Pro's Apple Pay and it activates no issue. When I go to add it to my Apple Watch Ultra, it adds but gives me a verification issue and requires me to call their 800 number for verification.

Is this an issue with the watch or the card? I am able to add all my other cards without issue (visas, amex, Mastercards etc). Is this possibly a limitation of the card issuer where I can only have it validated on one iOS device? I will call the number, but wanna rule out there's no issues on my end I need to troubleshoot first.

I doubt there's a problem on your end. I think the issuer just wants to do a safety check when > 1 device uses their card for Apple Pay. I've had this happen with two cards, and a call to the issuer got me approved for the additional device.

Awesome that’s what I figured. So in theory it should allow me to add it to the watch if I delete from the phone? I’ll give them a call later to resolve. Appreciate it.
