I have been using Apple Pay (with my credit cards added to my Wallet app) for a number of years in my home country (*not* US or EU, I think this may be relevant).

I am now on assignment in another country, long term, and am trying to add my local credit card (local to the “new” country) to the Wallet (via the “Add new card” process). However when the card details are entered, I get told that it is not supported, and when tapping “more info” I get a list of banks from my home country.

Is it possible to add the card from the country I am in now, without changing the AppStore region of my primary Apple ID? I’ve researched this topic, and it seems seamless with US/Canada as well as between EU countries, but that’s not my use case - both home country and country I’m in now are outside EU/USA/Canada. Both support Apple Pay.

If I change the region to the new country, will I lose access to my home country cards?

I’m totally lost on this one…thanks for any help.
