I currently have the IPhone 6plus and am considering getting new 6s plus. Will I have to go through the whole process of setting up cards and calling bank or will it automatically be on phone?
When I first set up Pay, I had to call my card issuer (American Express). I had to call again when I added the card to my Watch. However, after upgrading the phone, I had to re-add the card to both devices but didn't have to call them again. It may depend on the card issuer and how strict they are with the signup/enrollment process.

Doesn't matter, Pay is like finger print and must be setup again on any new iPhone.Did you set up as new phone or restore from backup? I set my phone up as new and had re verify all my cards again. I am in the UK so that might make a difference

It is hashed and stored in a chip. Also it is unique to the device. A new iPhone requires a different and new token number.I was thinking that it could be something do do with the device account number being reinstalled if you restore the phone from a backup.
