Apple Pay not working (uk shops)

having real trouble with Apple Pay recently.

Holding near the reader and nothing. Tried wake then sleep and try again, nothing.

This happened in morrisons, Costa, m&s. It use to work perfectly.

Today I manually went into wallet and pressed my card and it said hold near reader. Even doing so and holding it over the card device with my finger on the fp scanner, nothing.

Anyone else getting inconsistent usage in the uk or could it be my 6s+?

It's been working fine for me. I've used it in Costa, Pret, M&S, Co-Op and a few other places.

Just been in Costa then greggs and it's working on both phone and watch.

I have used Apple pay maybe a couple of dozen times since it came out with Lloyds in September. I have never had any trouble with it.
Used it in M&S and the Co-op.
Maybe worth deleting your cards and reinstalling them, then reverifying them if you have not already done this.
