Apple Pay suddenly not working well?

v 10.3.3
Have an Otterbox on mine, especially made for fingerprints so apple pay did work well using it for ages.

Suddenly about a month ago, 2-3x a day, out of 4-5x its no longer being picked up by cash machines.

Up until a month ago, I did not carry cash, interac or credit cards but having got stuck 2x now with it not working, I find I have to carry these cards again which goes against the reason for my having apple pay to begin with.

Has something changed with the recent 10.3.3 version, or.....something else i am not aware of?

Edit: No I haven't made any changes in how close I hold it to the machine, double clicking, etc. Everything I believe on my end is the same as it was earlier, although I will double check on my next few purchases using it.

Thats exactly when mine started to develop problems, a few weeks ago with an update.
Sighs.

I can no longer carry only my iphone when I run out the door for quick shopping excursions.
Defeating the whole purpose of my using Apple Pay at all.
Shame

Never had consistent luck using ApplePay so just do not use it.

I have found that certain terminals don't work with ApplePlay with Debit cards. This used to be true at McDonalds but they upgraded and have worked for a while. A couple of days ago I went into drug store and didn't work with debit card as a matter of fact you couldn't do chip insert with card with the debit - had to do the swipe. Unfortunately, I think we are still away from a reliable ApplePlay - I use when I can but still carry card with me.

That was one spot mine definitely did not work. I tried 3x and they kept telling me that they accept Apple Pay but mine wouldn't work, about 2-3 weeks ago. So interesting you mention that as well.

Indeed that was the first problem I had, one day. Had been sick for 2 weeks, unable to eat and the first day i could all I could think of was McDonalds but still weak, I drove to one and they were closed for a problem, went 2 miles to another one, famished and it wouldn't work. I ran to the corner to my bank to get some cash out just so i could eat, but they wont accept it unless you have your card with you LOL i was very frustrated that day

Anyone notice that t doest show the virtual card (Device ID) now on the card picture OR on the store receipts? Mine is showing the last 4 digits of the real card in both places now. Have removed it and added back a few times. I DO get a new virtual card and device ID and my bank shows a virtual card online but everything seems to use the real card info.??
