The first card I used with Apple Pay was my Costco American Express and I love how you can get notifications every time there is a charge posted to your card (regardless of whether or not you use Apple Pay). I think this is the best feature of Apple Pay honestly. In fact, I was on vacation recently and I had lost my card and 24 hours had passed before I realized it was missing. I wasn't worried though, because I hadn't received any notifications during the time, and it turned out someone had found it somewhere in my hotel and returned it to the front desk. Had my card not had this benefit, I certainly would have had to call the credit card issuer, cancel it (in a panic) and then go through the hassle and get it re-enabled (or a new one mailed to me?) after the card turned up. That would have certainly been a big deal since it was the only credit card I brought with me on that trip.

I've discovered that most (all?) non-Amex CC's don't work this way in Apple Pay, however. Some will give you notifications of purchases made with Apple Pay only, and others don't give you any notificaitons at all (and yes, I've enabled the notifications in Wallet). This is a big enough deal that it will drive which credit cards I'm willing to use going forward but it isn't always clear. Just because a CC accepts Apple Pay, the customer experience isn't always the same.

So, my question is this: Is there somewhere I can determine which CC's enable this functionality and which don't? Does anyone else besides AMEX do this? If you use a non-AMEX card and you get instant notifications of ALL CC purchases without going to a dedicated CC App, please respond. It would be nice to have a list of those that support this great feature! Thanks!
