I have 12 of them rattling around in my desk drawer. Never needed to use one.I noticed that as well. Honestly though I've had my first Pencil for 2 years and haven't had to even consider using the spare. I'd be curious to hear if others had to though
Agreed. Like many I don't like the feel of the tip on smooth glass so I use a matte screen protector to give it a little 'tooth'. Maybe a tip with a little more tug to it that we could swap out would have been a nice addition. That’s disappointing. If they wanted to improve the Pencil AND raise the price, it would have been cool to offer different tips like Wacom.

If there was a market for different tips I’m guessing someone would have kickstarter’d it by now?Agreed. I believe this is the review you are talking about. Skip to 5:37.I saw a review where they visited a professional cartoonist from some big paper or magazine and she uses hers every day and said it felt like the new one had more pull and felt more like a real pencil than before. This makes me wonder if the tips will wear faster now due to an increase in friction. I’m a light Pencil user (honestly mostly because it dies all the time attached to the side of my iPad because it tries to auto connect sensing the display) but mine has been fine for the past year and a half. I can definitely see myself becoming a more moderate user of the new one combined with moving up in size to 12.9”.
