Apple pencil attached to the ipad but battery life keeps going down?

my apple pencil’s battery started going down even it’s connected to the ipad. is it normal? i thought it should be 100% charge all the time since it’s connected to its “charger”?

Mine does this too. If I connect it, it will charge to 100% and then stop charging and the battery will drain again until it is reconnected.

I wonder if that’s normal? Can anybody confirm if that’s just how it works? Because I’ve tried researching it but I couldn’t find an article or related questions about it.

Confirmed, yes.

Probably a feature of the pencil so it doesn't constantly trickle, but may reactivate charging at 5% or 0%?
