Hi Guys,

Should my Apple Pencil always be at 100% when its been charging for hours? What’s happening is after say leaving it overnight or maybe a day when I’ve not used the iPad, sometimes the pencil battery is around 80%? Is this normal behaviour? Not a huge issue but a little frustrating.

Thanks

Mine has pretty much been always at 100%. Whenever I am not actively using it it is resting (charging) I only charge the iPad itself at night and usually only every other day as the battery is rarely below 50% with my use.

Mine has pretty much been always at 100%.

Interesting, if I take it off the iPad and back on again it charges back up to 100% again and stays there for the remainder if the time I’m using the iPad, just seems to be longer periods of inactivity that it drops down. Wasn’t sure if this was a way of protecting the battery on the pencil.

My pencil battery is dead, now I think its dead. Its magnetically attached to my iPad Pro but after 20 minutes nothing. Am I just being inpatient? I went through 3 of the first gen pencils with a similar issue....ipad would just stop recognizing it after a while. When I attach it now it doesn't show up under the bluetooth devices but does have the pencil icon under where it attaches. If I unattached it and reattach it, it asked me to connect...then nothing.

Any tips?

Mine just did the same thing. Been attached all night and day and I noticed it’s at 82%. I took it off and re-attached it. Now it’s charging back to 100%.

I would make sure it is centered. Not sure it charges if off center. When centered while attaching it will pop up Apple Pencil and give the battery percent. It off of center it will not.....
