So I picked up my new iPad Pro yesterday and it’s my first experience using the Apple Pencil.

All in all, it’s amazing and the speed of the thing is mindblowing compared to my old iPad mini.

One thing I’m stuck on is a quick way to go back to home using the pencil. I thought I would be able to use the pencil to carry out gestures but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Or am I missing something.

It’s a really annoying pause in my workflow by having to switch from pencil to finger every time I need to go back to home!

I don’t believe there is a short cut for the Pencil to take you home. The tap features are used to change markup tools in apps. You can use your freehand to pinch the screen to go home.

The Pencil isn’t a stylus. Most apps I’ve used it with recognize the Pencil, so it auto starts markup features once you touch the screen with it.

You could use AssistiveTouch and double-tap or long press the icon, but it’s a bit annoying having it on the screen all the time.
