I bought my Apple Pencil to work with my iPad Pro 12.9 quite a while ago. I just bought the iPad 2018 with pencil support only to find out you can only use the pencil on one iPad at a time. Bummer. I use both iPads at the same time.
Here'e hoping one day they add support for using more than one iDevice with the pencil at a time.

I thought that you synced the pencil to the iPad by plugging it into the lightning port at the bottom of the iPad. I only have one iPad that works with the pencil, so I could be wrong, but if so, it’s a pretty quick way to sync the pencil between iPads.

I also thought this...but it would be nice if it remembered the syncs, so to speak...

Not if you are using 2 iPads back and forth and back and forth. I use one scrolling through info and then jotting on the other. Plugging in each time would become very tedious at best.

It would be nice if it worked similar to the AirPods. Only, become active on the pad once you touch it.
THIS!
This is how it really should work! Just like the AirPods.
