I find that I can charge my Apple Pencil to 100% and even if not used, in about one week I will get warning that the battery is low at 5%.

My question is if this is normal for the Apple pencil, or I have a fault in mine to cause a battery drain?

As small as the battery is with the Apple Pencil, it's naturally going to deplete if you're not using it or charging it regularly. But what you could do, is re-pair the pencil with the iPad.

To keep the battery healthy, I would at least try to charge it once every few days, Being it charges relatively quickly.
