Apple Phone Upgrade Program

I currently have a year left on my apple upgrade program, but I dont think I want to continue using an apple phone this year, rather I would like to switch back to blackberry. Is it possible for me to end service on the iphone but just continue to make the payments to honor the contract, and add service to the blackberry? Or do I have to stick it out with the IPhone?

Any insight would be appreciated..

If you are on the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program then Apple doesn't care if you still have active service with the phone. You can cancel your service, move it to a different phone, and keep paying Citizens Bank (US) every month until you pay off your iPhone.

Also, you could try to sell the phone on eBay right now and then use the money you make to pay off the loan right now.

So say if he upgrade to iPhone 8, but change his mind after just one month, what would be his remaining balance? Is it $700 - $390 (assuming $30 a month. 12 payment on old device plus one month on new device) or $700 - $30?

I would think $700-$30.

When you get a new device my understanding is you start a new contract with a new $700 charge.

Yes. Once start new contract you bought the ip8 and owe the full amount. You have 14 days to return after that you own it.

So basically leasing a device for $360 a year.

That doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

Cost is divided by 24 months no interest.
If you pay cash or put on cc it is still the same amount.
