Oh. My. Lord. I just updated to 18….(sue me hehe).

But what the a F have they done specifically with the folder background? It’s not like that on iOS?

I’m talk about that photo background under all the images? I got a migraine just looking at that. It’s the worst visual change I’ve seen on any product in my ENTIRE LIFE. Can’t for the life of me figure out how the get a solid colored background.

Help me MacRumors Forum, you’re my only hope..

🖖

Edited it to show a folder…the main folder image has turned into a background formatted entire folder view.

??? It is white or black depending on whether running on dark mode or not… really not sure what you referring to? A screenshot maybe?

So this is how it looks when I scrolls. It’s absolutely horrible

Turned on Light Mode….its not like that then. So this must be a bug, surely?

Go into “view options” and change to “aspect ratio grid”. It looks like you have it set to “square photo grid” though, even with that on I do not have a photo in the background, it’s black.

Tried that, it’s still there and visible.

Also checked my iPhone running latest iOS 18.4… change to dark and same thing happens on the iPhone…

This can’t be right?

Just tried hard resetting the iPad. There’s a slight change. The image in the background is only half the size of before, it doesn’t fill the entire screen. But it still fills half the screen. The rest of the screen has a black background now, but background folder image is still “stuck” and still lies underneath the photos while scrolling.

Changing to Light Mode, the image is still there, BUT when scrolling it disappears and the entirety of background is now white as it should be.

How can it still be there if there is no gap between pictures? Very weird!
