Note that it was last updated on May 19, 2006. Here's a quote:

"For prolonged use, place your iBook, PowerBook, MacBook or MacBook Pro on a flat stable surface. Do not leave the bottom of the computer in contact with your lap or any surface of your body for extended periods. Prolonged contact with your body could cause discomfort and potentially a burn."

Riiiiight apple. Because putting a "notebook" on a flat surface a.k.a. a desk doesn't defeat the purpose of it NOT being a desktop at all ;)

Yeah...nearly new ;)
Just modified recently to add MacBook and MacBook Pro. :D

But if people think that these new machines are hotter than the old ones, a couple few would have the brains to think that also applies to MacBooks.

The rest of the oblivious are looking for a roasted crotch.

The MacBook/Pro is still missing a ton of places on Apple's homepage.

It just takes time to edit every page made.

This is nothing new. This verbage is in both the MacBook Pro's User Guide and MacBook's. I even think it was in the PowerBook G4's.

Of course it's going to be. It's the issue with how the computer vents air. But all notebooks are going to be about the same as far as temp goes...why, because they're notebooks. They're so thin that there really isn't all that much room . As far as it being on people's laps....well, unless you have it on your lap without pants, it isn't going to burn you ;). It may warm your lap a little. That is again to be expected. Particularly on cases made out of polycarbonate and aluminum. Get over it. Part of the issue is because of the powerful processor (well....now processors) in the laptops.
