If I traded in a phone 6+ years ago, does Apple have a record that the phone was traded in? I ask because I'm pretty sure that this phone was traded in, but not 100% sure.

This may be an idea similar to "I adopted my child ten years ago. Will you provide me records of where they are, and have been?"

The Idea of "Privacy" can/should be applied at all levels (irrespective of whether the principles are actually enforced).

All I want to know is if they have a record of the trade in happening, not what happened after. I ask this because the device (though not its location) is still present on the FindMy app.
