Apple Protection Plan

Just got my new iMac with APP included. Do I have to do anything to activate APP or is it all automatic? APP came with a CD and book but said nothing of activation. Does cover start straight away?

Best way to check the remaining days of warranty coverage, is to get copy and paste your serial number apple: > About this Mac > More info) and navigate here. Scroll down to the v bottom, left hand side, enter in your serial number.
