Apple Push Service and Com.Apple.TCC

Hi all,

I used app zapper, to remove some of the apple programs I don't use, like messages and FaceTime etc.

Since then when I go into preferences I am unable to open iCloud settings. It says unable to load preference pane.

I've noticed in Library/application support.

I also have no access to Apple Push Service and Com.Apple.TCC

Is there a way to restore what ever's been deleted, causing this issue.

Or do I need to reinstall the whole OS?

Try downloading the OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 Combo Update and applying it.

If what CoastalOR suggested does not work, then yes.... you will need to reinstall the OS. Just command-r boot to recovery and click reinstall OS at the top and wait. Backup first just to be safe, but this will not erase your data.

Neither will destroy your data.

Nope... if you just reinstall it will not wipe your data. The only way it will wipe your data is if you first used Disk Util from recovery to erase the disk.

No it doesn't, but that's an obvious question for someone who's never done it before.
I thought the same thing before I did it - AppleCare reps assured me that would not happen, but I still had two backups just in case.

One would think that installing the OS would overwrite what's on the disk, leaving it as if it were a virgin install on a new computer. However, it merely overwrites the OS files and restores those which have been deleted; User data is left untouched.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm posting my reply to clarify for others what will happen when reinstalling the OS.


AND LET THIS BE A LESSON TO OTHERS TO ALWAYS HAVE AT LEAST ONE RECENT BACKUP!
If the OP had done so, they could have quickly restored their system from the backup.
A Time Machine backup and clone of the boot disk are mighty helpful when something goes wrong or a deleted file is needed again. Ideally you should also keep one offsite, in case of fire or theft. Consider how valuable your data is, and how you'd feel if it were suddenly gone and you had to start from scratch.
