For VisionPro, Apple will need all the help it can get from user content, and from the platforms hosting user-generated AR/VR/360 content. Most of Apple's success can be boiled down to giving its customers awesome ways to consume and create content. It will be no different with the Vision Pro.

As of this writing, Apple has put too much emphasis on the hardware, OS and developer frameworks; and far too little emphasis on the user content that spatial computing will be used to consume. Apple should be doing everything it can to get early adopters and prosumers to think about creating AR/VR/360 content. iPhone 15 Pro's spatial video was a first step, but they need to do a whole lot more. No one will be walking around with tethered VR headsets in the wild capturing stunning footage, and they should dismiss that possibility asap.

How about educating users about 360 cameras, and partnering with the GoPros and Insta360s of the world? Or getting YouTube involved to highlight the growing 360 content library? Maybe coming up with their own service to intuitively consume shared AR or VR content? Partnering with movie studios to dust off stereoscopic 3D movie content? Or perhaps promoting an open AR/VR standard that will invite lots of cross-platform content on the Vision OS? If Apple doesn't prioritize this now, it risks having the VisionPro become another Google Glass.

There will be hundreds of thousands iPhone 15 Pros out in the wild recording spatial video. Next year, it’s likely that the base iPhone 16 will be able to record spatial video too.

Furthermore, Disney is a content partner for VisionPro. I also expect the some of Apple TV+ next shows, will be recorded in Spatial Video.
