Ok so I bought a Refurbished Mini with the C2D 2.66 and 2GB Ram with 320GB HDD. Funny thing is when I went to open it and swap the 320GB with my 500GB Apple sent me a unit that already has a 500GB HDD? Does this happen often?

philipma1957 has bought a large number of refurbs (particularly of the 09 Minis) so he'd be a good person to ask.

It does happen occasionally.

5 percent for hdds .
10 percent for ram.
a rough estimate for 2009 and 2010 refurbed minis. never got lower but a

160gb instead of a 120gb hdd and a few 320gb hdds instead of 160gb hdds. maybe 1 500gb instead of a 320gb. many times 4gb ram instead of 2gb and a few 8gb ram instead of 4gb. so you got lucky

Interesting, however it is a Seagate 500GB 5400 RPM most likely 8MB Cache, so my Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid will most likely replace that drive once I get the ram.

I wish I had received 8GB of ram instead of the bigger HDD but oh well I will find a use for it somewhere

My refurb 09 I think had bigger hard drive than stock. Never had a problem with buying from apple. Some very god deals.
