Apple remote (what happens when it dies?)

I tried searching, but I couldn't find a thread on this.
I have the little remote that came with m macbook. I figure I can use this alot at college, connecting my computer to the tv as a dvd/movie/music player. Will this remote's batteries die in 5 years? Can the batteries be replaced, or do I just have to get a new remote if it dies? I am figuring it is like the Nike+ in that once the batteries die, you toss it and get a new one.

Check the nub at the bottom. It's the battery eject.

You can change the battery. There is a little button on the bottom of the Apple Remote that you push in to get access to the battery.

Thanks for the info. I had pushed the button before, but it only made the bottom wobble. This time I pushed it with something thinner so I could push it in all the way, and out pops the bottom. Thanks!

It is a CR2032 battery - readily available at most shops and cost about $3.

On a side note about those batteries...I work at a jewelery store and we replace watch batteries and charge $10 to open a watch (or other device that runs off a similar battery). Most batteries cost us around $0.25 to $0.90, so we are making a killing off these things. But yes, I'm glad Apple has made this one a user replaceable battery. That makes things nice.
