Apple Remote

Hello. This might be a longshot, but is it at all possible to add an Apple Remote to a desktop or notebook that currently does not have it as an option (ie ibook)? I heard you can install front row on any mac with 10.4 but never tried it. Because the iBook doesn't have an infrared port, are there any 3rd party USB Infrared readers/ports that might work with front row & the apple remote?

There's no solution that I know of..

Front Row can't (legally) be installed on any computer that does not come with it. The Apple Remote will only work with Apple IR sensors found in their compturs and the iPod Universal Dock.

Keyspan RF remote for Front Row

Doesnt use the apple remote, but it is an option.

*EDIT: look into iRed, looks like you can pair the apple remote to IRTrans

Yes you can control FrontRow through a Bluetooth phone using Sailing Clicker. But that's not the infrared the OP was talking about.
