Took my 12 Pro Max into the Genius Bar today to get the screen replaced. I got it back and there are scratches/scuffs all along the sides of the phone. I imagine this happened so they could take the old screen off and put the new one on. Has anyone experienced this before? Kind of upset that they did a sloppy job replacing my screen.

Yeah that’s the same thing they did when they replaced the battery on my XS. In the future, I’ll plan on taking photos of my device before I send it in for servicing so if they damage it then there’ll be proof that it was them and not me.

I would have asked about this right then. That's getting sloppy. I had a iPhone 6s in for a screen replacement once and they replaced the entire phone because they couldn't get iOS 9 to work on it for some reason. In your case I would have expected them to replace the entire phone as well.
