iPhone 12 mini running iOS 14.6. Purchased on launch day. Battery capacity is 94%. I am enrolled in one Apple Research study: Apple Heart & Movement Study. I own a series 6 Watch.

The Apple Research app is draining the battery the last several weeks - 20% or higher, in the Battery usage chart for the last 24 hours/last 10 days. No other app is double digits in usage [average screen on for the last ten days is 10 hour, 54 min].

Has anyone else noticed Apple Research hogging this much battery? I ended the hearing study pretty quickly as the Watch app that alerts you of loud surroundings was causing my Watch's battery to not last the day.

I've been enrolled in the Heart/Movement study for 385 days, and this battery drain only started recently [the last few weeks].

I can't say for sure because I don't use the research study app but a lot of users have been complaining about battery drains on 14.6. I would keep monitoring the battery usage but might be triggered by whatever bug exists that is affecting some device's battery performance.
