This is just hilarious.

Apple are having a "Black Friday" sale.

While thousands of people wait for there iMac's ordered through resellers (UK/Australia) in Oct/Nov, they have the nerve to have a sale.
Why have resellers? If they are treated like this.
It was resellers who helped apple build their business many years ago.
Where is the mutual respect?
I guess for Apple it's only about one thing, the dollar.

Its just a disgrace.

I don't think Apple is in the business to play ring around the rosy, holding the hands of the retailers.

Of course it's about the money, there are shareholders to answer to.

By no means take this as being offensive, but isn't the main focus of ANY successful company the "dollar"? I can't imagine any other business that won't take advantage of opportunities where they'll make a good profit.

Now, I understand if it were something like Walmart where it's just very sleezy business tactics. Is Apple doing business this way? This is a sincere question, as I am just mostly a lurker here. Please expound on your post above.

What does having a Black Friday sale have to do with Apple resellers and people still waiting to receive their 27" quad iMac? Just because they have a sale and people buy an iMac during that sale tomorrow it doesn't mean those people won't have to wait just like everyone else to get a quad core iMac. Sales on Black Friday are something that most all major retailers in the States participate in because it's the busiest shopping day of the year.

Apple has been through this before, every other time Apple has pre-announced machines and began taking orders in advance of shipment there have always been delays, problems, and complaints.

Having a sale during Black Friday while there are still scads of backorders still gives the waiting people the option of taking a discount and going to the end of the line. Can always call and ask if they can process a discount without bumping you.
