Hey, I have applied for a job at apple retail and passed the first stage of the interview and had my second around 2 weeks ago and still no reply, i emailed them recently and they said that the result of the interview was 'Positive" however "There are some problems with my working hours and they need to speak to the other manager" and i last heard from them a week ago, whats the hold up?, do you guys think this is good or bad news? im sitting here by the computer waiting day after day for an email.

Many thanks :)

Im guessing that no response from apple for 2 weeks is a bad thing concerning A job?

As long as you don't call them every day, I don't see why it would be "pestering" them, especially since you already had an interview.

Very true however i did contact them a week ago via email asking them "Whats taking so long?" and they replied "So about the wait, but there are some problems with your working hours and when I'am back in the office on tuesday i will let you know as soon as i can" and its now thursday and still nothing. do you think its best to email them again ?

WOW Just ran downstairs as my house phone rang thinking it was going to be another company trying to sell stuff but it wasn't, instead it was the deputy manager of Apple she said that the interview was "Really positive and the manager really liked me" however there is a problem because I'am only going for part time they can not offer me anything at this time but she said she would put me in the "Pipe-line" and save me in her email to contact me when a part-time job is available and she asked if that was ok and i replied "Defiantly" and she said that they would love to have me on board ATM but they don't have the vacancy but she said "That defiantly isn't the last i will be hearing from them" I think this is a good result what do you guys think?

It's good that you remained positive and polite to the manager. I'm curious, what were the hours you said you were available for?

Your store might not be hiring for summer yet, which is why they couldn't give you a part time position. I know some stores hire for summer very early, while others don't start in earnest until May.

I'am only applying for A part time rather than a full time role.

Im looking to work in an apple store as well.

What position did you apply for? When they day full time, is their full time 40 hours a week? What is the entry level hourly wage?

Well Im from the Uk so it might be different but over here i applied for Specialist and full time is 35-40 hours a week and the entry level for pay is £8.00

ah ok. Sounds about right.

Did you apply online? and how long did it take for them to contact you after you sent in resume etc.

Yep I applied online and it took around 2 months to hear from them so not too bad.

cool. Anyone else have experience working at an apple store?

This was a few years ago, but when I was first hired it went VERY quickly. Looking back at my emails:

-Entered my resume at around 7am. Got an invitation to a 'hiring event' that day at around 4pm.
-Hiring event was 2 days later. Got an email the same night of the group interview inviting me to a 2nd interview the next day.
-Got hired the next day a few hours after the 2nd interview.

So yeah, it really varies.
